PSA confirms FedEx truck burglary stole graded orders, certs deactivated

PSA confirmed a FedEx truck carrying graded orders was burglarized after leaving its Southern California facility, according to Mashable. One collector said over $100,000 in cards was stolen. PSA has deactivated certificates and will compensate at fair market value up to the Maximum Insured Value.

Cofre's take

Worth noting if you buy graded cards: the stolen slabs had their certificates deactivated, so anyone moving them through a major marketplace should get flagged. Run PSA's cert check on any high-value slab you're offered in the near term. For sellers, 'fair market value up to the Maximum Insured Value' is a cap — a big submission may not be made whole.
