Over $100,000 in graded Pokémon, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh cards stolen in FedEx theft

Per Dexerto, a FedEx vehicle carrying PSA orders from its Southern California facility was burglarized; customer SKY-B says their 104-card submission worth over $100,000 is gone. PSA has deactivated the certificates and will compensate customers, capped at each item's Maximum Insured Value.

Cofre's take

Handing cards to PSA in person doesn't protect the trip back; one customer who submitted at a Miami convention lost a PSA 9 Smaug. The silver lining: deactivated certs mean stolen slabs should flag if they surface at auction houses or marketplaces, so verify cert numbers before buying high-value singles. Compensation capped at each item's insured value means anyone who set it low eats the difference.

Our read, from the people who buy and sell these cards. Opinion, not financial advice.
