Bournemouth shop's 200 Pokémon anniversary packs gone in 15 minutes
Collectors queued through Bournemouth Arcade as Waterstones sold its 200-pack stock of the 30th anniversary Pokémon drop in 15 minutes on September 2, according to the Bournemouth Echo. One buyer said his son had previously pulled a card that sold for £1,000.
A small echo of what the anniversary year has looked like everywhere: queues and instant sellouts. Two hundred packs is a tiny allocation, so a 15-minute sellout says more about foot traffic than about where prices are heading. When a kid's pack pull changes hands for £1,000, though, the frenzy is clearly still broad, not just high-end.
