2010 fan-designed Zorua contest promo sells for $156,000 at Fanatics

The 2010 Illusion's Zorua Design Contest Promo, the Kindergarten Winner card drawn by six-year-old Megu Taniguchi, sold for $156,000 in a Fanatics Collect auction that ended September 27, according to ComicBook.com. Roughly one hundred copies were printed.

Cofre's take

Promos with print runs this small barely trade, so one big number tells you more about two determined bidders than about a market price. The long-rumored private extra printing is the real catch: supply on these is never fully known. Anyone chasing Japanese movie contest promos should expect thin comparables and wide spreads.

Our read, from the people who buy and sell these cards. Opinion, not financial advice.
